Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows

Posted by AapoJoki Jul. 22, 2007 @ 12:39 PM EDT

I finished reading it. I've been offline for almost 2 whole days in fear of spoilers on the internet. Turns out, most of them were false and those that turned out to be right, were lucky guesses. A lot of things occurring in the final book had also been guessed by the online fan-community (including me) nearly two years ago, after the release of the Half-Blood Prince.

I know there are still people who want to read it, so I don't want to reveal them anything except this HUGE FUCKING SPOILER: Harry, Ron and Hermione are CAMPING IN A TENT FOR 300 PAGES. Otherwise, it was an entertaining read, it was very interesting to find so much about the past of the complex characters of the book; it wasn't the ending that I was looking forward to so much.

If you don't want to know more until you read the book, don't read the comments to this message (if there are any). Someone might want to discuss things that happened in the book, or just spoil it for fun.

I read it in a day because I was scared people would ruin it for me at school. It really is great except for LUPIN, FRED, DOBBY, TONKS, VOLDEMORT, SNAPE, MAD-EYE, WORMTAIL AND BELLATRIX DYING!!!!!!!!!!1

The only thing that bothered me with these deaths, was that they seemed inconsequential, irrelevant to the plot. It seemed as though Rowling just wanted to kill off as many random minor characters as possible just for the sake of making the book bloodier. I guess she wanted to demonstrate that when someone like Lord Voldemort is on the loose, random people who happen to be on his way can die. It was that way with Cedric, but I think his death made more sense to the plot of Goblet of Fire.

What about Fred's death? Something just randomly explodes on the walls of Hogwarts and he dies. Wtf?

I think a death eater called Rookwater or something killed him, because he's running away from Fred's body and Percy's screaming at him.

started off slow, and then the end of it is like powpowpowpow loads of shit is happening all at once, so it was a bit dull and then very exciting.

Anyway, had to finish them off, I owed it to 12-year-old me.
